The aids counselor of the Kennemer hospital in Haarlem organised a special information day on hiv/aids for 180 pupils of group 8 elementary school, in close cooperation with the project group on hiv and prejudices. Gemma Pagano (sexologist and active with the WEB.foundation) played the FAMILY.matters game with 7 groups and reported: ‘all pupils were very open and without prejudices. However the subject was not new to them, to repeat the facts was very useful. Taboos such as that mosquitos can transfer hiv through blood were still there. How a baby can get infected through the mother, was really new to them. The animation cd ‘The Story of Bobo’ was warmly welcomed by the young audience.
