The WEB.foundation develops games and animated films to stimulate
and support the communication about hiv/aids worldwide. The
tools are meant for countries where hiv/aids is a big problem
or where it will become a big problem. The tools help social
workers to support and teach children, youngsters grown ups
and to learn them to talk about subjects that are related to
hiv/aids, in a playful way.
It is of vital importance that children know that they can and
must protect themselves against aids.
All the tools are being developed especially for a country or
a group of countries, in cooperation with a local team. The
games and animated films need to connect with the local culture.
There are several versions of the memory game LOVE.check and
the games are used in several counties in Asia, Africa and in
the Netherlands. The two animated films ‘The story of
BOBO’: ‘Be HIV free’ and ‘Be AWARE,
take CARE’ are used worldwide and were released in more
than eight languages.
Research to the effectiveness of the tools has been done. With
the feedback and experiences from the field the content of new
versions will be sharpened.
The WEB.foundation wants to give people instruments,
so that they can change and improve their situation themselves.
