LOVE.check is being developed for different countries or group
of countries. The game’s picture story is adapted for the
intended region. Experts of the specific country, amongst
others, a sexologist, an education- and culture specialist
develop the game together with the WEB.foundation. The game
is preferably printed locally and distributed by several relief
organizations in and outside the educational system. LOVE.check
for the southern African region was developed after the Zambian
game and in 2006 produced on a large scale and distributed
in that region. Besides that the WEB.foundation has also designed
the game for Thailand and the Netherlands. The first Dutch
game is aimed at children of African and Caribbean descent.
It is found that the LOVE.check game for Zambia has found
its way to other countries, due to a great lack of sex education
channels adapted for children. Physicians, nurses, volunteers
and co-workers of national and international ngo’s have introduced
LOVE.check to Tanzania, Kenya, Gambia, Senegal, Nigeria, South-Africa,
Ghana, Zimbabwe, Surinam and the Dutch Antilles. Using questionnaires,
the WEB.foundation gathers critical reactions and recommendations
from the users. Everyone is, without exception, most pleased
with LOVE.check as a tool to educate and guide. It offers
meaningful and useful advice for successive versions.
